Most recently David served as the President and General Manager for the Business to Business operations at Rearden Commerce, an intelligent e-commerce platform company. Prior to Rearden Commerce, David served as Executive VP of Operations at SpikeSource managing worldwide sales, channels, marketing and business development. David played a major role in driving direct and channel relationships that led to the establishment of the SpikeSource eco-system, including the formation and nurturing of the strategic relationship with Intel.

David was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations for application security company Virsa Systems, an early pioneer in the Governance, Risk and Compliance market where he was instrumental in rapidly growing their direct and channel revenues. Virsa was later acquired by SAP in one of the largest GRC acquisition deals. David also held Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Services for diCarta preceded by a Vice President of the Americas position at Interwoven, driving their record growth from early stage to $200 million. Earlier in his career he held senior sales management positions at Internet Security Systems, Network Associates, and Amdahl. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and Information Technology from San Jose State University. He has also attended Stanford University’s Advanced Management College.

Toronto Hydro IT Security Manager Kshamit Dixit spoke on Plugging the Biggest Hole in Smart Grid Security: Insider Threat - Access to Assets; Encrypting meter data, deploying firewalls and creating security perimeters is not enough. As new technology gets added to the grid, a more insidious risk needs to be addressed – insider threat. Security professionals have long advocated the monitoring of the trusted resources within the company – people with access to control rooms, field supervisors with access to head-ends for meter networks, technicians with full access to generating assets and contractors with access to SCADA devices in remote distribution substations.
